Don’t throw it away. Fix it and wear it another day. Bring in any project. Depending on what you bring, you will learn such things as how to:
— take in or let out seams, adjust closures, and hem.
— finish edges for a professional look.
— repair tears or holes with patches, reweaving other tricks of the trade.
— tailor garments to fit your specific needs.
— handle fabrics, and make accurate measurements.
Plus you will:
— gain a variety of essential skills centered around adjusting and modifying clothing.
— expand your sewing skills and learn more advanced skills.
Casual Jackets with Elle
Thursdays, February 19-March 26, 10 am-1 pm OR 6-9 pm
Make a cool classic that’s suitable for any season of Oregon weather. You’ll learn how to work with denim, brocade and other thick fabrics, make bachelor buttons and buttonholes, add sport zippers and sew five different kinds of professional-looking flat fell seams so the inside of your jacket is as beautiful as the outside. All styles are unisex.

Sat, Feb 7-March 14, 2-5 pm
Use the latest digital pattern creation and fitting program. Focus on skills like pattern drafting and fabric behavior from an extensive fabric library. Cover topics like 2D and 3D design, pattern transformation, garment fitting on avatars, adding textures and prints. It’s what everyone is using from adidas to Vivienne Westwood. Let’s include your name in that group.

Or maybe you want to try the pattern creation and fitting program used by Columbia Sportswear, Kohl’s, Nike, PVH, PUMA and Perry Ellis. Learn from Norma, Columbia’s expert.
Couture Dress with Elle
Fridays, February 20-March 27, 10 am-1 pm
Build a dress using fine fabrics and couture methods to create a garment that fits beautifully and impeccably.
Along the way you will:
— Learn steps in taking a high-end garment from concept to completion
— Create, modify, and perfect a muslin (“toile”) version of your pattern.
— Complete a dress with infrastructure and outer construction of a high end garment: waist stays and underling.

Eco Couture with Lisa
Saturdays, February 21-March 28, 2-5 pm
Immerse yourself in slow fashion sewing. Learn the time-honored techniques for constructing and embellishing garments and items made from cotton knit fabric. In class you will learn all the steps in the process to make one of these amazing pieces: creating and using stencils; hand stitches and appliqué methods; embellishments, finishing techniques and more.

Overalls & Jumpsuits with Amber
Tuesdays, February 17-March 24, 2-5 pm
Tall, short. High bib, low bib. Sleeved or sleeveless. Male, female, whatever — they all have lots of pockets. It’s your favorite go-to garment with six styles from which to choose. Pattern 3 with Anne
Tuesdays, February 17-March 24, 6-9 pm (am class full)
Learn advanced techniques: How to remove ease, add ease, eliminate darts, create jackets and asymmetric styles. Learn how to choose the right styles for your figure and how the pros judge a fabulous fit. Leave with patterns ready to take to a factory for production — or to your house for a new wardrobe of well-fitting clothes. Prerequisite: Pattern 2
Sergery with Lisa
Saturdays, March 7-28, 10 am-1 pm
Learn the parts of your serger, how to thread and manage the tensions and how to trouble-shoot problems. Create a book of techniques — from overlock to rolled edge — in the first class. Serge a patchwork tote bag in the second class, a flatlocked table runner in the third and knit top in the fourth. Use your machine and its stitches to create something wonderful. Open to all makes and models of sergers.
